Black Cabins are two off-grid architecturally designed cabins situated in the Byron Bay hinterland. The cabins power comes from the sun which charges the batteries. Water is from the sky and we use both eco-friendly and natural products in kitchens and bathrooms.

Black Cabins are located on a private estate in the Byron Bay hinterland - 25 minutes drive from Byron Bay, 10 minutes from Bangalow and 30 minutes from Ballina airport, 50 minutes from Gold Coast airport.

You will enjoy total privacy when staying at Black Cabins. The cabins are located are positioned on our hill top with just green valleys, mountains and stars in front of you.

Pack for your trip you plan to have. If that involves beach time, hiking or simply lying around in your robe -pack for the time you plan to have. Simples!

Check-in: after 3pm

Check-out: before 11am

The cabins are self-check-in and ready to go when you arrive. You’ll receive your directions and specific instructions for your cabin via email 3 days before your stay.

Please don’t arrive early as our cabins may still be being cleaned. Please wash away dishes and take your rubbish with you.

Food and drinks are BYO, so bring what you’d like to have. There is a great local store close by that has some yummy and delish products.

There is usually 5g phone range. Wifi no. Our cabins are designed for you to switch off, relax and find stillness during your stay.

Babies: the cabins are designed for two, so they are not really set up for babies at this stage.

Pets: We love dogs as much as anyone, however the cabins are not designed for pets at this stage.

Smoking is not permissible.

Our cabins have a small kitchenette with gas burner stove, and small fridge. We also have an outdoor Weber BBQ that you can use to cook up on including the basic pans/pots and utensils.

Pantry essentials are also provided (olive oil, butter, S&P, sugar etc)

Coffee and tea is also taken care of thanks to our friends at Allpress.

The cabins are accessible by a standard vehicle in all conditions.

You can absolutely take a walk around and through the macadamia nut orchard. Just stick to within the boundaries of the cattle fences.

Yes there is! Just make sure before you hop in, your skin is free from all oils, soaps, or tanning oils.. There is an outdoor shower where you can rinse off before and after each.

Following your booking we send you our address exact address for your stay. Then 48 hours before your stay we send you the gate code. The cabin will then be open for your arrival.

We understand things don’t always go to plan, so if you need to reschedule or cancel your booking please contact us via email – hello@blackcabins.com.au

For changes or cancellations made at least 21 days prior to arrival, guests can choose to either reschedule, receive a credit voucher for the full amount or we can provide you with a refund (less the 5% booking fee).

For changes made 10-21 days prior to arrival, we are happy to reschedule your booking. All re-bookings are subject to availability.

Cancellations within 10 days of your arrival make it difficult for us to fill the dates so last minute. Therefore, there will be no refund, credit voucher or rebooking – partial or otherwise.

This is because we are a small business and any cancellations that can be re-booked impact us greatly and we really appreciate it when guests reschedule

their booking rather than cancelling where possible.
